In life, it is not always easy to remain optimistic.  Last winter, I thought I could build an igloo.  We had more snow (this is from when I was in Virginia) than we had gotten in years.  It was up to my knee caps!  It was a fun adventure looking up how Eskimos build them [ahhh internet], coming up with my own plan, and then trying to implement it.

Most of an igloo...

I used a small kitty litter pan and a small piece of plywood to pack the snow into little bricks.  Then I would stack them one at a time using loose snow on the ground like mortar.  Lastly I would take a small saw and shape the brick to get a good fit with the next one.  It was great!

I was bummed about halfway through construction when I realized that none of my roommates were going to help me.  They are awesome people, they just were not as excited about being in the cold snow as I was.  The thing is, I had fun anyway.  And I got some neat pictures.  I never finished the thing due to the cold and the fact that I got lazy.  I feel that it is better to think that instead of not finishing the igloo, I had built half of an igloo!

That thing was there for weeks lol…

A Turtle, blub blub blub...

So it is Earth Day today! Hope everyone tries to do their part by saving the planet’s life. Every little bit counts.

Even if you only do one thing, like recycle just this one day [although I hope you do every day], or re-use something like plastic grocery bags [I know for a fact that they end up just blowing all over the woods next to the landfills of the country], or use just a little less power or gas [most people don't think about this, but every thing that uses energy that you don't produce, uses a natural resource], the effects of all humans taking one little step can be a the biggest step ever.

If we stop caring about these things, in a nutshell, humans will die, and the world will return to a beautiful place. Nature has a way of repairing itself in a way that we will never know if we don’t try to help.

Just think about Ms. Turtle, her home will be filled with junk and chemicals. Not a fun place to swim or breathe.

Think about those flowers you love to see every year, they won’t be coming back again this year.

Cell Phone Pic! But pretty anyway...

Think about Mr. Froggy! If we don’t help protect our planet, he will melt and be very sad!

Ribbit...

I like Mr. Froggy so, I will be thinking all day of how I can help this place we call home. Hope your Earth Day is beautiful!
