So I went to the Seattle Cheese Festival yesterday!  It was delicious, to say the least.  The event took place on May 14th and 15th in downtown Seattle’s Pike Place Market.  This is also the home of the famous fish throwing/yelling guys and the first Starbucks ever.

Despite the rain, there were a ton of people here.  This doesn’t surprise me as it rains here all the time.  I guess the people just get used to it here [something I am still struggling with myself].

So we gathered our rain coats and umbrellas and went down to check it out.  There were a ton of different booths and types of cheese.  Since I love cheddar, that is what I was most interested in.  I found one that I thought was the best and got a chunk of it for $6, which is about half as much as it would be in the store.  There was an organic smoked jack cheese that I was also impressed with, but after eating all of that cheese, I was satisfied with my chunk of cheddar.

Crowded but fun...

Walking past the large pig statue and the Pike Place Fish Market itself, we came upon the second destination of interest.

Oink!

Pike Place Fish Market

We visited a small doughnut place called the Daily Dozen.  They have this cool automated doughnut maker that spits out about 4 every minute.  They are small, crispy, and very good.

Best machine ever!

While waiting for the group to all get their snack, I found my self standing amongst the engraved hoof path that leads up to the pig.

I noticed that even the silver living statue guy was taking a break from all of the activities that were going on.  His bubble maker continued to run while he rested.

Just chillin'

Now it was time for us to rest.  We had lunch at a place called the Seatown Snack Bar.  The food was tasty and fairly reasonable for the location, at least in my opinion.

Although it was a rainy day, I had a good time and ate lots of cheese.

Yummy!
